(Dallas) – The Medical-Legal Partnership for Children in Dallas, Texas was the beneficiary of an Akin Gump fundraising event held in conjunction with the firm’s annual pro bono awards. Since 2011, Akin Gump has provided volunteer attorneys to represent low-income children in special education matters through MLPC’s Children’s Education Rights Project (CHERP).

“We are thoroughly pleased with our success in providing service to low-income children through our partnership with MLPC,” said Akin Gump partner and CHERP coordinator Michelle Reed.

The donation will fund a stipend for an MLP summer law clerk as well as cover travel and training expenses for MLPC attorneys.
