Akin Gump Honored by Her Justice for Commitment to Helping Women in Need

(New York) – Akin Gump has received the 2014 Commitment to Justice Award for law firms from Her Justice, a nonprofit organization devoted to helping women in need.

Akin Gump has been active in Her Justice’s (formerly inMotion) pro bono program since 2000, handling 158 matters for 74 clients. In 2012, the firm established an externship program, with Akin Gump lawyers working full time on a rotating basis in Her Justice’s office to provide assistance to clients on matters such as securing orders of protection, child and spousal support, custody and safe visitation arrangements and fair divorces as well as the right to live and work in the United States.
