(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump is proud to announce that the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights & Urban Affairs, at its annual Wiley A. Branton Awards Dinner, recognized the firm’s pro bono work with one of the organization’s Outstanding Achievement Awards.

The WLC, this year, focused on recognizing firms that represented a D.C. resident before the Parole Commission between June 2017 and July 2018. As the organization noted, “Without your commitment to providing quality legal representation to incarcerated DC residents before the U.S. Parole Commission, many men and women who are home today would remain in prison.”

This is the third consecutive year that Akin Gump has been honored by the WLC with an Outstanding Achievement Award for its pro bono work. Learn more here and here.
