“How the Nevada Privacy Law Compares to the CCPA,” an article by Natasha Kohne and Michelle Reed, co-heads of the cybersecurity, privacy and data protection practice at Akin Gump, and health senior counsel Jo-Ellyn Sakowitz Klein and associates Rachel Kurzweil and Mallory Jones, has been published by the Privacy & Cybersecurity Law Report.
With the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) taking effect on January 1, this article examines the similarities and differences between it and Nevada’s own new privacy law. That law, the authors write, requires operators of websites and online services “to provide consumers with the ability to opt-out of the sale of their personal information, specifying that [the operators] must establish a designated address to which consumers can send such requests and that they must respond to such requests within 60 days of receipt.”
