(Singapore) – Akin Gump has been shortlisted in the M&A Deal of the Year (Premium) category for Asian Legal Business’ 13th annual SE Asia Law Awards.

The firm was recognized for its role advising Tata Power and ICICI Bank on the creation of a platform company to facilitate investment in power projects in India in the coming two to three years. The platform raised initial commitments of $850 million. Akin Gump investment management partner Thiha Tun led the team advising Tata Power and ICICI, with assistance from senior counsel Divya Thakur. To read more about the deal, please click here.

Finalists for the SE Asia Law Awards were selected by the Asian Legal Business editorial and research teams. Winners, to be announced at a dinner on May 18 in Singapore, will be chosen by an independent judging panel composed of at least 30 senior and expert legal industry leaders.
