(Washington, D.C.) – USEC Inc. has emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, with Akin Gump advising an ad hoc group of noteholders of the company. This follows confirmation of USEC’s reorganization plan by a U.S. bankruptcy judge in Delaware.

Now known as Centrus Energy Corp., the enriched uranium producer started trading on the New York Exchange on September 30. It had filed for Chapter 11 in March.

Michael Stamer and James Savin, partners in Akin Gump’s financial restructuring practice, led the team representing the noteholders.

Founded in 1945, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 attorneys in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
