(New York) – Akin Gump has been selected for inclusion in this year’s “Global Litigation Top 50,” published by The Lawyer. The report ranks the world’s top litigation practices by revenue.

The firm is also noted in a section of the report on alternative fee arrangements (AFAs) and a recent example in which an AFA has been used in an innovative manner. With regard to an individual litigation client, Akin Gump devised a plan in which a collar fee was converted to a fixed monthly fee, thereby reducing “the client’s burden for monitoring activities, timekeepers and rates.” This permitted Akin Gump “to manage the work efficiently throughout the year, taking into account increases and decreases in workload.” It also allowed “both client and firm to focus more on driving successful legal results.”

Founded in 1945, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 850 attorneys in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
