Akin Gump’s Charles Franklin Pens Article on Chemical Controls
Charles Franklin, senior counsel in Akin Gump’s environmental practice, has authored the article “Chemical Control by the Numbers … Big Numbers” for the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources’ Pesticides, Chemical Regulation, and Right-to-Know newsletter.
The article, which can be read by clicking here, discusses efforts by the government to maintain a “first-class” chemical control system. Franklin notes that Congress and the EPA have both proposed various ideas, but have fallen short up to now. He suggests that failure to come up with a new framework that is both “politically and financially sustainable” could drag the issue out for many years to come.
