Akin Gump’s Summary Judgment Win for Huron Consulting in False Claims Case Covered by Reuters

Akin Gump obtained a summary judgment dismissal of a $400 million False Claims Act lawsuit against Huron Consulting Group.

The relator in the case had accused Huron of causing St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center to overcharge the Medicare and Medicaid programs, but the judge ruled the relator could not assert that Huron caused the submission of false charges. Therefore, he said, no claim could be false or fraudulent as a matter of law.

Akin Gump partners Robert Salcido and Robert Huffman led the trial team, as noted in the Reuters story available by clicking here.
