Akin Gump Shortlisted for 2017 Thomas L. Sager Award

(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of three finalists for the 2017 Thomas L. Sager Award.

The Thomas L. Sager Award is presented annually by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) recognizing “corporate law departments and individuals who champion diversity and inclusion.” The winner will be announced on October 4, 2017, at the MCCA Diversity Gala, which will be held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.

Akin Gump has won the Sager Award four times, going back to the award’s debut in 1999, and has been shortlisted for the honor for the last two years. Akin Gump senior counsel Vernon E. Jordan Jr. was honored as the first recipient of MCCA’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.
