Akin Gump Shortlisted for PE Deal of the Year in The Deal’s Cross-Border Asia Awards

(New York) – The Deal, as part of its Deal Awards Cross-Border Asia, has shortlisted Akin Gump in the category Private Equity Deal of the Year.

The shortlisting recognizes Akin Gump’s work as outside counsel in a consortium acquisition of Toshiba Memory’s chip unit. Akin Gump advised Kingston Technology in the matter (learn more here).

The awards ceremony will be held in New York City on September 24.

Akin Gump’s work in this deal has been recognized as M&A Deal of the Year – North Asia at The Asia Legal Awards 2018; as Japan Deal of the Year, M&A Deal of the Year (Premium), and Technology, Media and Telecommunications Deal of the Year at the Asian Legal Business Japan Law Awards; and as Private Equity Deal of the Year at the IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards 2019.
