Akin Gump Shortlisted in Two Restructuring Categories for IFLR Europe Awards

(London) – Akin Gump is pleased to announce that two deals on which it worked, as well as the firm’s restructuring practice, have been shortlisted for IFLR Europe Awards 2020.

The Agrokor bankruptcy, in which Akin Gump served as independent international legal counsel to Agrokor in connection with the company’s settlement agreement (learn more here), and the restructuring of German industrial group Galapagos Heat Exchangers, in which the firm advised an ad hoc group of senior secured noteholders (learn more here), are both contenders in the Restructuring category under Deals of the Year.

Separately, the firm itself is nominated in the Restructuring category under Teams of the Year.

The awards celebrate legal innovation in cross-border transactions that closed in 2019. Winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held on April 23 in London.

Akin Gump’s work on the Agrokor restructuring has already been recognized as International Company Transaction of the Year in TMA’s Turnaround and Transaction of the Year Awards (learn more here) and led to the firm’s recognition on The Times’ Best Law Firms 2020 list (learn more here).
