(London) – Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is pleased to announce that it has been shortlisted in the categories of “US Law Firm of the Year” and “Finance Team of the Year” at the Legal Business Awards 2016.

The Legal Business Awards recognize “the leading individuals and teams in the legal industry,” with winners to be announced at a gala evening in Central London on Thursday, April 7.

Akin Gump has been shortlisted for the “US Law Firm of the Year” owing, in part, to the arrival of almost all of the London, Frankfurt and Hong Kong offices of Bingham McCutchen—hailed at the time as one of the “largest ever City acquisitions”—and the subsequent, successful integration of the team. The firm has been shortlisted in the “Finance Team of the Year” category owing to its role advising LUKOIL on the $1 billion project financing to develop Phase II of the Shah Deniz project, an offshore gas exploration and production project in the South Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan.
