Akin Gump, Vena Cheng Honored at Law Society of Hong Kong Pro Bono Awards

(Hong Kong) – Akin Gump is proud to announce that it has been recognized with the Bronze Law Firm Award, and Vena Cheng, a senior consultant in the firm’s Hong Kong office, awarded both the Individual Gold Award and the Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award, at The Law Society of Hong Kong Pro Bono and Community Service Awards at a Presentation Ceremony held earlier today in Hong Kong.
The Pro Bono and Community Service Awards recognize the lawyers and law firms that “demonstrated outstanding commitment to volunteer pro bono and community work” from July 2015 to June 2016.
Ms. Cheng’s and the office’s recent pro bono engagements include representing Med-Art Limited and Partners In Health in relation to various projects. Among numerous other activities, Ms. Cheng also sits as a member of the Energy Advisory Committee and as a government-appointed member of the Disciplinary Panel A of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
