Akin Gump Houston partner in charge and tax partner Alison Chen was named a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champion, and corporate partner Melissa Schwartz a Best Mentor honoree.
The awards honor North American general counsel and law firm partners who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in law and have shown extraordinary leadership in their careers.
Honorees will be recognized at an awards dinner on October 18 as part of the Women, Influence & Power in Law Conference in Washington, D.C.
