Anthony Pierce Among Business, Sports, Political Leaders Announced for D.C. Olympic Bid Board

Washington 2024, the organization formed to promote Washington D.C.’s bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, announced today that Akin Gump Washington, D.C. partner in charge Anthony Pierce is on its board.

As reported by WTOP.com in its article “Heavy hitters on Olympic panel in D.C.” as well as by The Washington Post and Washington Business Journal, Pierce joins local business, politics and sport luminaries such as former mayor Anthony Williams, Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank, Washington Nationals principal owner Mark Lerner, former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue, Washington Mystics president Sheila Johnson and EY global chairman and CEO Mark Weinberger, among others, on the 17-person board.

Pierce, a native Washingtonian, is chair-elect of the Greater Washington Board of Trade and a presidential appointee to the D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure.
