Akin Gump Dallas financial restructuring partner Charles Gibbs was quoted by Texas Lawyer for its article “Bankruptcy Booms, Energy Expands for Texas Law Firms” regarding the firm’s dominating performance in the field of bankruptcy, according to The American Lawyer’s “Corporate Scorecard 2013.”
According to the article, “Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld had the most impressive appearance in the bankruptcy area, working on five of the largest U.S. bankruptcies filed in 2012 and five of the largest emergences for the year.”
Gibbs, who coordinates Akin Gump’s Texas restructuring work, noted the practice’s leading role at the firm for the last 15 years and characterized its 2012 performance as the rule rather than the exception. Regarding the practice’s expansion in its New York, Dallas, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. offices, he said, “We continue to reap the fruits of a decade of effort.”
