Chris Spicer, a partner in the entertainment and media practice at Akin Gump, was quoted in the Daily Journal article “Comcast acquires DreamWorks for $3.8 billion” regarding the purchase of DreamWorks Animation SKG by Comcast Corp., the owner of NBC Universal, of which DreamWorks will be a subsidiary.

Spicer said the acquisition is good news for Comcast’s theme parks, since it will provide an array of popular new intellectual property for the company to integrate. “That is certainly among their primary interests in it,” he said. The article reports that Comcast’s theme park revenue grew 39 percent to $1.02 billion as of the fourth quarter of 2015.
