Corporate Leaders Name Akin Gump as One of America’s Top Law Firms

(Washington, D.C.) – For the fourth consecutive year, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP has been recognized by corporate leaders as one of America’s top corporate law firms, according to a recent survey compiled by Corporate Board Member magazine (“America’s Best Corporate Lawyers,” July/August 2004, http://www.boardmember.com/issues/current).

The survey asked more than 2,000 directors at public companies nationwide to identify the law firms they most admire, nationally and in 50 metropolitan areas. In addition to being lauded as one of the top 20 law firms nationally, Akin Gump was named as a leader in the Austin, Dallas and San Antonio legal markets.

“What makes these ratings unique is that they’re made not by other lawyers, from afar, but by the people ultimately responsible for hiring corporate law firms, weighing their advice and paying their attention-getting bills — company directors,” said William S. Rukeyser, editorial director of Corporate Board Member.

R. Bruce McLean, Akin Gump’s chairman, commented, “We are extremely pleased that for four years in a row corporate board members nationwide have expressed their confidence in our firm and recognized our ongoing commitment to excellence in client service.”
