David Burton Quoted on Production Tax Credit Extension by North American Windpower

North American Windpower, for its article “Senate Committee Passes Bill With Two-Year PTC Extension,” quoted Akin Gump tax partner David Burton on the Senate Finance Committee vote to pass a two-year production tax credit (PTC) and investment tax credit (ITC) extension for wind energy companies.
Although, the article notes, there has been support in the House and Senate for PTC and ITC extensions, there are opponents urging the committee not to include the extension. In this regard, Burton says the vote is “a first step in a long journey and unlikely on its own to create enough confidence to spur investment in the development of new projects.”
