Euromoney Honors Meredith Lahaie with Americas Rising Stars Award for Deal of the Year

(New York) – Akin Gump financial restructuring partner Meredith Lahaie has been recognized by Euromoney Legal Media Group with an Americas Rising Stars Award for her role in Lantern Entertainment’s $289 million acquisition of The Weinstein Company (TWC)’s assets. The awards recognize those lawyers who are “leading the field in the legal sector across the Americas.”

Ms. Lahaie co-led an Akin Gump team advising Lantern, which purchased the TWC assets after it went into bankruptcy following a wave of sexual abuse allegations against its co-founder and former owner Harvey Weinstein.

Previous honors for Ms. Lahaie include being selected as one of Turnarounds & Workouts’ Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyers and being named by Global Restructuring Review to its 40 Under 40 list.
