(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump has been recognized as “commended” by the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers North America awards for 2018.

The firm was recognized in the Technology category for its work on an automated tool to help clients comply with complex U.S. antiboycott regulations. The Antiboycott Advisor tool, developed in-house through a collaboration between Akin Gump’s international trade lawyers and the firm’s information technology team, uses an artificial intelligence-based process automation platform that streamlines the task of compliance with the antiboycott laws enforced by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Earlier this year, Akin Gump was selected as a 2018 CIO 100 award honoree for its Antiboycott Advisor. (Click here to read more about that honor.) The firm was also named a finalist for The American Lawyer Industry Awards in the Best Use of Technology category for its development of the tool.
