Westlaw Journal Class Action published the article “‘Please Bend Over’: Supreme Court Approves Strip Searches for Minor Offenders” by Jason Steed, an associate in Akin Gump’s Supreme Court and appellate practice, on the Supreme Court ruling in Florence v. Board of Chosen Freeholders of Burlington County.

Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote the majority opinion in the 5-4 decision allowing for strip searches of minor offenders that was handed down April 2, 2012. This article follows a December 2011 article by Steed and Rex Heinke, co-head of the firm’s Supreme Court and appellate practice, on the same topic.
