Kelli Moll Co-Authors Article on Current Trends in Hedge Funds
Kelli Moll, partner in the investment management practice at Akin Gump, has co-authored the article “Current Trends in Hedge Funds” for The Review of Securities & Commodities Regulation.
The article, whose authors include lawyers at several other law firms, examines the new demands from investors and regulators that hedge funds are currently facing following the 2008 financial crisis. Using data from recently registered Cayman Islands hedge funds, the authors discuss management fees, incentive compensation, expense allocations and liquidity terms.
In addition, Moll and her co-authors look at the fiduciary duties of directors under English law and Cayman Islands precedents, and compare that with the United States. They also write about the disclosures required by the EU’s AIFMD and the SEC’s recent concerns with conflicts of interest and cybersecurity.
