Ken Menges Honored with Planned Parenthood Award

(Dallas) Ken Menges, partner in charge of Akin Gump’s Dallas office, was honored with the Gertrude Shelburne Humanitarian Award by Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas in a ceremony held today.

Menges has offered counsel to Planned Parenthood since the 1990s, when he joined the organization’s board.  In that time, he has worked pro bono with Planned Parenthood on issues such as the purchase of Planned Parenthood’s Dallas headquarters, the oversight of two mergers as well as numerous contracts and governance issues.

The Gertrude Shelburne Humanitarian Award is given to honor an outstanding individual for his/her humanitarian efforts on behalf of the health and welfare of North Texas women and their families.  The award is specifically intended to promote the awareness of women's health and reproductive rights in the community.
