As part of its series of profiles of notable New York law offices, Law360 has published “Inside Akin Gump’s New York Office.”
The article features the architectural and environment-friendly highpoints of the firm’s Bank of America Tower location at the corner of 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue—one of the tallest buildings in the United States. The firm’s offices, designed to specification, achieved LEED Gold (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) status for commercial interiors, “becoming the first law firm in New York and the second in the U.S. to do so,” as the article notes. The office and the building have both been featured as settings for television and film.
In the profile, Law360 also spotlights some of the attorneys who work in the New York office, including corporate practice head Kerry Berchem, who was recognized by the periodical as a “Female Powerbroker” in December 2013 (read more here); Estela Diáz, who, in July 2014, was selected as Pro Bono Partner of the Year in the annual Akin Gump Pro Bono Awards (read more here); and New York partner in charge and New York financial restructuring practice head Daniel Golden.
Law360 also notes the firm’s Dallas office and its move to a more modern, tech industry office configuration, a redesign that was featured recently in The Texas Lawbook (read more here).
