Law360 Quotes Hushmand Sohaili on Akin Gump’s Work in $300M Financing for Austin Fairmont Project

For its article “Hotel Giants: Fairmont Austin, Wynn And Resorts World Vegas,” Law360 quoted Akin Gump real estate partner Hushmand Sohaili on the financing for the 37-story Fairmont Austin hotel, due to open in mid-to-late 2017.
The firm represented Colony Capital, which was a joint venture partner with developer Manchester Financial Group, on the $300 million loan as well as on Colony’s joint venture agreement, while Law360 reports that Sohaili also worked on construction agreements and an amendment of a hotel management agreement.
About the engagement, Sohaili said, “It was just done under very short time constraints, and there were various complications that occurred in dealing with the different pieces.”
