Los Angeles Business Journal Names Marissa Román Griffith to Most Influential Minority Attorneys List
(Los Angeles) – Los Angeles Business Journal has selected Akin Gump entertainment partner Marissa Román Griffith for inclusion in its Most Influential Minority Attorneys list.
Ms. Griffith was noted as being one of the few female partners—and perhaps the only senior Latina lawyer—in private practice, focusing on entertainment transactional matters. The Business Journal said she is an industry leader “for her representation of financiers, as well as borrowers, distributors and studios, involved in various aspects of the production, financing and distribution of film, television and digital content, including credit facilities (on behalf of the lead agent/lender and also the borrower), domestic and international co-financing agreements and slate transactions.”
Among her recent work, Ms. Griffith, as the Business Journal notes, has led the team representing Media Rights Capital and its affiliates in connection with its financing activities in film and TV.
Last month, Ms. Griffith was named to Variety’s Dealmakers Impact Report, a list of executives and attorneys without whom, “the wheels of entertainment would come to a grinding halt.” (Click here to read more.)
