Akin Gump public law and policy partner Martha Kendrick was quoted in the CQ Roll Call article “Medicare Likely to Change Quality Metrics in Post Acute Rules” regarding the possible changes facing organizations that provide post-hospital care for Medicare patients as a result of potential changes to quality metrics made through new payment rules.

The article reports that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will soon announce a draft of new payment rules for inpatient rehabilitation services and skilled nursing care for fiscal year 2017. Kendrick, whose practice focuses on health and Medicare policy, said, “It’s fair to predict that quality measures move to center stage across the post-acute care spectrum in this season’s rulemakings.”
