Monte Jackel Named to American College of Tax Counsel

(Washington, D.C.) – Monte Jackel, senior counsel in the tax practice at Akin Gump, has been named a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel.

Mr. Jackel has practiced federal tax law for more than 35 years in both the private sector and the federal government. He served as an attorney-advisor in the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Tax Policy, where he worked on many significant partnership guidance projects. He also worked in the national office of the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Chief Counsel.

Formed in 1981, the American College of Tax Counsel is a professional association of tax attorneys whose members work in private law firms and in-house legal departments, teaching tax in law schools, or working in federal or state revenue agencies.
