NLADA Recognizes Akin Gump Pro Bono Accomplishments with 2015 Beacon of Justice Award

(Washington, D.C.) – The National Legal Aid and Defender Association (NLADA) honored Akin Gump as being among its 2015 Beacon of Justice Award winners at the NLADA Exemplar Award Dinner on June 23 in Washington, D.C. The honorees are law firms recognized for “expanding access to quality legal services for people across the country.”
Akin Gump was recognized for its work in organizing, with immigration and human rights organizations, the Karnes City Immigrant Family Pro Bono Project to provide legal representation to Central American women and children who have been detained in a federal facility in Texas as they seek asylum.
