NPR’s All Things Considered Quotes Charles Franklin on Shutdown and EPA

Akin Gump environment and natural resources senior counsel Charles Franklin was interviewed on NPR’s All Things Considered for its segment “Trade Gets Sluggish As The Shutdown Leaves Agencies Short Staffed.”

In a discussion of the impact of the federal government shutdown on the Environmental Protection Agency’s clearance of imports for business, Franklin, for 13 years an EPA official, noted, “This is going to be an impact on the chemical industry, first and foremost. But, of course, without those products, that has a cascading impact on all of the other industries. So it has the potential to be a very broad impact.”
