P. John Burke and Marissa Román Griffith Named to Variety Dealmakers Impact Report 2015
(Los Angeles) – Akin Gump entertainment partners P. John Burke and Marissa Román Griffith have been selected for inclusion in Variety magazine’s Dealmakers Impact Report 2015. The list of honorees comprises those people “behind the most important entertainment industry deals of the past 12 months.”
Ms. Griffith said Hollywood is more bankable now because of the burgeoning online landscape. Commercial banks, she noted, “are giving credit to library values instead of just first cycle-sales and minimum guarantees.” Speaking about the boom in China deals, in particular, Mr. Burke expressed optimism. “Is it the beginning of a wave or the end of the wave? It’s my view it’s the beginning,” he said.
Mr. Burke and Ms. Griffith were last named to the list in 2013, along with senior counsel Alissa Miller. (Click here to read more about that.)
