Akin Gump congressional investigations practice co-head Steve Ross was quoted by POLITICO for its article “Dems prepare to force Trump to reveal private talks with Putin” on steps House Democrats are taking to force the President to release information regarding his private conversations with President Vladimir Putin of Russia.

The article notes that the Intelligence Committee and Foreign Affairs Committee chairs are consulting with House General Counsel Douglas Letter on how best to legally compel the administration to turn over documents regarding Trump’s one-on-one talks with Putin.

Ross, who himself served as House GC, said Letter’s role is to make sure that “committee members and staff have a proper understanding of what their legal and constitutional authorities are, and what the legal and constitutional limitations might be.”
