Pratik Shah Named by National Law Journal as One of D.C.’s Rising Stars

(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump Supreme Court and appellate practice co-head Pratik Shah has been selected by The National Law Journal and Legal Times as one of D.C.’s Rising Stars—one of 40 lawyers under the age of 40, whether in private practice, the government or public interest advocacy work, who are “leaders in the law.”
Shah, who joined Akin Gump from the solicitor general’s office one year ago, is a former clerk to Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer and has argued 13 cases before the Court. He also led the briefing for the government in 2013’s same-sex marriage cases, United States v. Windsor and Hollingsworth v. Perry, which he told the Law Journal were the cases in which he felt “most proud to play a role.”
