Privacy & Cybersecurity Law Report has published the article “A Business Guide to the Draft CCPA Regulations,” written by Natasha Kohne and Michelle Reed, co-heads of the cybersecurity, privacy and data protection practice at Akin Gump, public law and policy partner Dario Frommer, health senior counsel Jo-Ellyn Sakowitz Klein, litigation counsel Diana Schaffner and health associate Rachel Kurzweil.

The article, which originated as an Akin Gump client alert, provides an overview of the California attorney general’s draft regulations for implementation of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), which went into effect on January 1. The authors write that the regulations, which mainly focus on “businesses’ notice obligations and consumers’ rights to request information, delete information or opt-out of the sale of information,” are meant to guide businesses in fulfilling their obligations under the new law.
