Reuters Talks to Ed Zaelke on Windpower’s Rise
For its article “U.S. wind power enjoys a rebirth as solar's obstacles mount,” Reuters quoted Akin Gump global project finance practice chair Ed Zaelke on the changing fortunes of the wind and solar industries.
The article notes that, a year after Congress approved tax credits for renewable energy projects, the wind industry in the United States is thriving thanks to near-term advantages in the subsidies and to advances in turbine technology, while the solar industry has been slower off the blocks.
Zaelke, a former president of the American Wind Energy Association, said, “Solar had its run of driving down cost. Now wind is coming on strong with improvements in technology.”
