Robert Huffman Article Published in Public Contract Law Journal

Public Contract Law Journal has published in its Fall 2012 edition the article “Close Encounters: Government Contracts Law Meets Patent Law at the Federal Circuit” by Robert Huffman, a Washington, D.C.-based partner in Akin Gump’s government contracts practice.

The article discusses what effect, if any, the Federal Circuit’s patent docket or approach to deciding patent cases has had on its government contract decisions.  It does so by examining three decisions—Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior University v. Roche Molecular Systems, Inc., Mabus v. General Dynamics C4 Systems, Inc. and Zoltek Corp. v. United States—and compares and contrasts the Federal Circuit’s approach in these cases.
