Ryan Thompson, Former Inhofe Chief of Staff, Joins Akin Gump Policy Group

(Austin, Texas) - Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP has hired Ryan Thompson to join its public law and policy practice as a senior policy advisor. A former chief of staff to Sen. James M. Inhofe (R-OK), Thompson joins the firm with a distinguished background in energy, transportation, technology, defense and environmental issues within the public policy realm.

After almost a decade on Capitol Hill during which he gained extensive experience as both a leader and a communicator, Thompson will now provide strategic counsel in advocacy, legislative affairs and crisis management to a variety of the firm’s energy, transportation, aviation, defense and technology clients.
As chief of staff, Thompson served as counselor to Sen. Inhofe in connection with the Senator’s committee work on the Environment and Public Works Committee and as a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
