Tahirih Justice Center Honors Joshua Sekoski with DC Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award

(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump associate Joshua Sekoski has been named the Tahirih Justice Center’s Pro Bono Attorney of the Year as part of its Greater DC Champions awards.

Sekoski, a member of Akin Gump’s labor and employment practice, was recognized for his long-standing relationship with Tahirih, which began with a summer internship in 2010 that was sponsored by Akin Gump through its Pro Bono Scholar Program. In addition to partnering with Tahirih lawyers on client matters, Sekoski coordinates Akin Gump’s Washington office participation in Tahirih’s annual Bighearted individual giving campaign and he leads its Violence Against Women Act Summer Project.

The Tahirih Justice Center provides direct representation, public advocacy and social services for women and girls who face gender-based violence.
