The American Lawyer Highlights New Akin Gump National Class Action Group as Among Top Moves of 2018

In its article “All-Star Acquisitions: The 25 Biggest Lateral Moves of 2018,” The American Lawyer has profiled a five-partner team with a national class action defense practice that joined Akin Gump last year.
Seamus Duffy, Michael McTigue, Meredith Slawe, Kathryn Deal and Michael Stortz came to Akin Gump in July 2018 from Drinker Biddle. Mr. Stortz resides in Akin Gump’s San Francisco office, while the other four are located in Philadelphia. All five partners, the article notes, served in leadership roles at their previous firm.
The group was considered by the publication as among those whose moves last year were significant and “made waves” in the legal industry.
