The Asia Legal Awards Names Akin Gump a Finalist in Two Categories

(Hong Kong) – Two separate deals on which Akin Gump advised last year have been named finalists for The Asia Legal Awards 2018.

In the category of M&A Deal of the Year: North Asia, Akin Gump was recognized for its work on Toshiba Corp.’s sale of its memory chip business. The firm advised Kingston Technology in the matter. (Click here to read more.)

In the category of Finance Deal of the Year: Insolvency and Restructuring, Akin Gump’s role in PT Bumi Resources’ $4.5 billion global debt restructuring was recognized. The firm represented a group of the convertible bondholders.

Winners of The Asia Legal Awards 2018, presented jointly by The Asian Lawyer, The American Lawyer, China Law & Practice and Legal Week, will be announced on March 22 in Hong Kong.
