Akin Gump entertainment partner P. John Burke was profiled by The Hollywood Reporter in the article “Cannes: Meet 5 Lawyers Who Can Seal the Deal.”

Burke and his Akin Gump colleagues were noted for representing “just about every bank backing indie projects, including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Union Bank.” The article reports they will be in France this week for the Cannes Film Festival, which Burke said is “a great place to connect with business relationships from all over the world.” Akin Gump has been hosting one of the longest-running Cannes events—its annual boules tournament, now in its 17th year.

Last year, the article reports, Burke and the Akin Gump team represented China Media Capital in a $100 million TV joint venture with Imagine Entertainment. They also advised Media Rights Capital on its financing of film projects like Peter Rabbit and Ozark.
