(Washington, D.C.) – The Legal 500, in its 15th edition of The Legal 500 United States, has highlighted a number of Akin Gump practices and lawyers as leaders in their respective areas. According to the publication, the rankings involved careful consideration of evaluations given by law firms, their peers and clients.

For the seventh year in a row, Akin Gump ranked as a top-tier firm in two categories of finance - restructuring (including bankruptcy): corporate and government - government relations.

Investment management practice co-head Stephen M. Vine was once again recognized in the guide’s “Hall of Fame,” and a number of lawyers have also been named “Leading Lawyers” and “Next Generation Lawyers” in their respective fields.

The firm’s “Leading Lawyers” include:

This is the fifth consecutive recognition for Mr. Shah, and a four-peat for Messrs. Dizengoff, Bates, Pomper and Goodgame.

Oil & gas partner David H. Sweeney received his fourth straight “Next Generation Lawyer” distinction, and this year, international trade partner Suzanne Kane and litigation partner Uri Itkin joined him on the list.
