Trey Muldrow Participates in Treasury Department Panel Discussion
Trey Muldrow, corporate partner at Akin Gump, moderated a panel discussion at the Department of the Treasury on leadership in access to capital, as part of a celebration of Black History Month.
The inaugural Morton Meetings, which took place February 26, honored the late Azie Taylor Morton, the first and only black person to serve as treasurer of the United States. Morton also worked as a special assistant to Robert Strauss, chair of the Democratic National Committee and a founding partner of Akin Gump.
In his remarks at the close of the meetings, Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew said Morton was “proof that success in our country is not determined by what you look like or where you come from. She reminds us that with hard work, grit, and a good education, it is possible to realize the American dream.”
