(New York) – Akin Gump financial restructuring partner Meredith Lahaie has been named one of Turnarounds & Workouts’ Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyers for 2017.

Ms. Lahaie, who represents debtors, creditors and bondholders in large, complex Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings, is noted for playing a key role in Stone Energy’s “negotiation and implementation of a prepackaged Chapter 11 plan on behalf of an ad hoc group of senior noteholders that resulted in a consensual swap of equity for senior notes.” The publication also cites her work on behalf of “an ad hoc group of prepetition secured noteholders and DIP lenders in Horsehead Holdings’ restructuring, securing confirmation of a plan following an extensive valuation hearing.”

With experience in a wide variety of industries, Ms. Lahaie also helped double recoveries by unsecured creditors of the apparel company Quiksilver, Inc.
