Voice of America has quoted Akin Gump international trade partner Kevin Wolf in the article “Silicon Valley Puzzled as Trump Eases Restrictions on US Sales to Huawei.” The article reports that U.S. technology companies are trying to determine what exactly is permitted regarding selling products to China’s Huawei, following President Trump’s announcement that he had agreed to ease his ban on U.S. firms doing business with the company.

According to the article, many industry executives are waiting for more details from the Commerce Department about what can and cannot be sold to Huawei.

“As a legal matter, nothing has changed,” said Wolf, a former Commerce Department official. But the tone, he said, has changed. “The policy is still evolving.”
