For its article “Export Controls Against Russia Add to Uncertainty for Business,” The Wall Street Journal quoted Akin Gump international trade partner Kevin Wolf on export controls and sanctions against Russia.

The article notes that financial sanctions and tech restrictions are causing some companies to suspend their Russia business. Wolf, a former Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration, Bureau of Industry and Security, said, “Because export controls and sanctions were so broad and complex, the standard reaction was to stop all Russia-related activity until they could sort out what was prohibited and permitted.”
