Elizabeth E. Harris focuses on comprehensive, tax-effective estate planning for high-net-worth individuals.

Ms. Harris has extensive experience providing clients with a full range of estate and trust planning and administration services:

  • developing succession and wealth preservation strategies for individuals and their families
  • preparing wills, trusts and other documents to implement those strategies
  • coordinating worldwide planning for families with members or assets in multiple U.S. or foreign jurisdictions
  • advising U.S. and foreign clients with respect to U.S. personal income, estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax matters
  • counseling individuals regarding charitable giving techniques
  • advising trustees with respect to fiduciary and tax obligations
  • representing executors in all phases of estate administration, from probate through estate tax proceedings.

Ms. Harris works closely with the firm’s investment management practice group, providing estate planning advice to private investment fund managers and others in connection with the structuring and operation of such funds.

Ms. Harris has been in private practice in New York since 1987.  She earned her B.A. magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1982 and her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1986.  She also received an LL.M. in taxation from the New York University School of Law in 1990.

Ms. Harris is a member of the New York Bar.
