Aleena is an associate in the firm’s litigation practice, where she assists clients with a variety of complex litigation matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Aleena was a law clerk at Fair and Just Prosecution where she conducted legal research for litigation and regulatory enforcement and drafted a progressive prosecutorial policy framework for a Virginia Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. Before law school, she served as a staff assistant for the Office of U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner and a Teach for America high school science teacher.
Aleena earned her J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School, where she was a lead student writing editor for the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review. During law school, she also served as a teaching fellow for the Honorable Patti B. Saris, member of the Board of Student Advisors, and student attorney with the Criminal Justice Appellate Clinic, Criminal Justice Institute and Harvard Defenders.
Aleena earned her B.A. with high distinction from the University of Virginia Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. She was a Pro Bono Scholar in Akin’s 2021 summer associate class.
